Only way i have tried is with water decal paper before finishing a pen I used the clear paper one and it worked out not bad, it was only a trial on a pen for my Grandson in Canada for a Xmas present, It can be easy or hard as far as i can see.
You need to take your time but it's quite effective! I got the paper stuff from ebay!:thinks:

Yes, you can use the water slide decals. Be sure to spray them after printing, or the ink will run. On light wood you can use the clear, on dark wood use the white backround cut into an oval or other decorative shape. I've also used it on corian.

I put a couple of coats of thin CA to seal the decal, then as many coats of CA/BLO as it takes to build up enough finish to cover the edges of the decal so you can't feel a ridge.

I found the best way for me was to CA on the pen first and micro-mesh it all the way so that there were no ridges and it was high gloss then apply the waterslide decal with the decal set solution and once dry finish off with plenty of coats of CA.

I only ever did this successfully once and found Peters way to be what worked best for me too.
I still have some of the paper left if anyone wants it but I am unsure as to whether it is the laser printer or inkjet printer paper I have.
Gadget Dave is not on this forum to ask, in fact I think he might be dead, I haven't heard from him for so long init?
I will look it out and see if there is any id on it, and yes it does make a vast difference.

That is correct Matty, but follow Peter and Sharon's instructions and all should be fine .. :bwink:
