Spent a bit of time today constructing some polymer clay blanks. Not made any of them in the past couple of years, but nice to spend some time doing these and am reasonably pleased with the outcomes.
Not sure yet whether I'll just turn, sand and CA them or to clean them up and resin coat them?

Two batches of six- using just black and white on Sierra/Sirocco tubes. Also another six pairs (not shown) grey and white on 7mm tubes.

First six:

Second six:

Ooh err Mrs!!

Looks exciting stuff Tony. Not enough polymer clay around here - looking forward to seeing the results.

I nicked that word 'penerised' from Mik Lawrence:thumbs:...but have to agree we need more Polymer Clay....

Thanks Phil - well I have a bag load of ideas around this and going to be working on getting them put into practice - along with my other ongoing projects.

One question, when cleaned-up is it worth popping them in to resin as opposed to using a CA finish (which I've done in the past)? Thoughts welcome!

They look great Tony.
This Polymer clay is great stuff to work with.

Hi Paul - I agree, it was your video that spurred me on to have another go at working with this again - (I did a few pens a couple of years ago).
I'll put some more up when theyre done

Hi and welcome Colin .

Tony these blanks are amazing and the WOW factor is high with impact and great promise.

Peter.

Thanks Peter, Now have to turn the promise into reality - later today or maybe tomorrow to move these on - and another small (different) batch to be made up.
Photos will follow.

Great looking Blanks Tony. I finish polymer blanks with acrylic lacquer.

Thanks Bill - I think that I have a can of that so will give it a try. Will have to wait a couple of days now as my lathe motor died today (the machine is only 4 months old) and am awaiting replacement parts - hopefully before Easter!!
