After my chat with Garno, I went to turn these.... I gave up before they did..... Boy did I tryIMG_20220812_152646.jpg
I wondered why one went slack on the mandrel, then I saw the crack.... :sob:
I next tried Milliput to fill the crack, which worked really well, but when I put my first finish coat on it stuck out like a cobers thumb....
Time to call it a day (among other things I called it) the other one was no better..... Some you win, some you walk away from!!:rant:

I got some swamp mahogany like that, they spent X number of years under my bench, cut them to length, drilled them and left them on the bench overnight, next morning they had cracked.
Filled the cracks up with epoxy glue and brass powder, when dry run the drill through again then glued the tube in, next morning it had split again, Over the years I have had a few more attempts to salvage these mongrel blanks.:sob::sob:
