A customer liked the style of the Dayacom Renaissance fountain pen but also liked the shape of the section on the TM Omega. Could I make a Renaissance with the Omega section.

On the face of it the answer is no, the threads of the Omega are a finer pitch than the 8.5 x 1.0mm of the Renaissance but I have an 8.5 x 1.0mm die so lets have a go, the worst I can do is ruin an Omega and be left with some spares. A bit of careful re-cutting of the thread and the parts fit together like they were made for one another. Fitted with a Bock nib and assembled onto a bog oak body and I have a happy customer.

Here is a close up of the re-cut thread. Sorry about the fingerprints:

Quite a course thread Walter with enough meat in the metal it came out right., the centre band is hard to figure at the top of the lower section, the timber is superb, the customer should be very happy with his custom built beaut pen.

Peter.
