Managed to get in the shed again, happy with the result using a fancy slimline from penkitzandbitz.

Tried wet and dry then micro mesh and though not perfect I think it's better than my first attempt.IMG_20180220_194418606.jpg

Very striking. I hope you don't mind me saying that from the photo it looks like you might need to press your mechanism in a tiny bit more. Could be just the angle of the photo though.

Thanks everyone, the blank was from Snainton near Scarborough think they were selling them off.

Phil I don't think it was fully wound out when I took the photo, as it was definitely pressed in as I check as I find it needs to be pressed a little further than you expect?
