I have made another box this time from spalted ash just need to fit the inside out with felt and elastic

Well done Alex that looks spot on mate have tou thought about using Suede Tex from T/R it is much easer to use Suedetex Starter Kit

Woody, thanks for the link, that is the first i have seen of this product .. Is it easy to use? :thinks:

Looking good Alex. How long did it take you?

Probably about 1 1/2 but only because I am not great at fitting hinges and I am having trouble with my bandsaw the tyres are worn out

I wouldn't cover the bottom and lose that lovely grain Alex.
Maybe use a clear sheet or just drill a hole each side of the pen and peg a strap across it.
