I managed to get on the lathe today-first time for months. I was making a small bowl and had done the outside and reversed the bowl to tackle the inside. When I was tightening up the chuck I burst the spigot on the bottom. Cursing my luck I was going to throw it away when I remembered I'd bought a set of Coles jaws last year. Altering the chuck I remounted the bowl and was pleasantly surprised that it worked a treat so problem solved. The only drawback is the amount of time changing the chuck jaws so I'll look for a cheap chuck now to leave the Cole jaws permanently set up. Any suggestions?
