I used to buy at scrap prices offcuts of pure ally from rounds using them for projects over the years no where near as exciting as your method but handling is easier mate.This from a wholesaler at his cost price.

Just a thought. One round was 8 inches across. Window makers sell off their scrap ally at scrap prices saw two ton last friday in one pile.
