Another first Omega

First time playing with Lilac, what a pleasure to turn.

Thought I'd have another try with a CA finish and failed

Need to get down to Mr Middletons for a lesson I think, just don't seem to be able to get it right.

That's a nice bit of wood. Never used Lilac and I didn't know it had such lovely colours in the grain. Nice pen and well turned. I've given up using CA to finish and now just use sanding sealer, friction polish and, from Billy's recommendation, microcrystaline wax on top of that. Gives a lovely finish quickly and easily.

Neither had I, it was put in my last order as freebie by our own lignaterrae. The colours in the blank are gorgeous.

Will be back for some more methinks.

Nice blank Phill. I've got some lilac and mulberry drying now. Should be ready in about 6 months.

CA is very hit or miss. I couldn't get it right for ages, then one day hey presto
But I still don't use it on everything :wink:
