The last one I posted sold within a day or so, so I've turned another. This one is made with two tone Ziricote, which is one of my favourite woods. I'm still fairly new to turning, so constructive criticism always welcome.

Looks beautiful to me. I have never used an oblique pen, I must get some holders and try it sometime.

Angelo, no I don't use a steadyrest - I have looked at them but the ones I've seen don't seem to hold things this slim, but I could have been reading the info wrong.

Your "newness" isn't very apparent. The form is very nice, it flows well. The finish is excellent. Is the pen sized to fit your hand? For a larger hand would the barrel be drawn out longer?
I watched a bunch of videos on using this pen. It really is an art form. Wonderful to see one in use.

I made this one to sell, so I just did it a general size - though it is slightly thicker than some. The difference is usually in the width, although you certainly could draw the 'bulge' down the length a bit.
Yes, people who can use them well really can create some lovely work. I started off trying to learn calligraphy, and in the absence of being able to find a decent oblique pen here, I decided to try and make my own. Now all of my time is spent making pens, and I seem to have no time to learn calligraphy!
