I'm looking for users of the Charnwood W824 lathe and there opinions

It looks very similar to the Axminster offering.

Personally I would avoid Charnwood, Clarkes, SIP & the rest of the cheap chinese clones

I thought it looked like the Axminster one, only difference I could see was digital display of speed and different threads.

Have a look at the Axminster eBay shop, I’m told they often have bargains on there.

Those lathes abound over here,they demand quite some looking after,their design demands that.What is the price structure in the UK?

£359.00, the Axminster version is about the same.

Midi Woodturning Lathe with Indexing W824

Both are similar price and apart from colour look same, but charnwood has indexing and speed readout.

Have a supplier of charnwood on doorstep and one about an hour away. Nearest Axminster is about an hour away too.

Was just hoping for feedback from someone who had used one!

Have to see if anything is reduced in the sales? fingers crossed.

Quick google they are $399 to $499 in Aust.
Depending what colour you want.
