Why not? I get the blame for most things. 
As I say, it is your decision Steve. Personally I would buy a replacement mandrel shaft that fits the mandrel saver so that I could always be able to use the mandrel saver with any of the mandrels from the major suppliers without if flapping around like a pair of Anne Widdicombe's knickers. However if you are certain you will only ever use it with the oversize TB shaft then go for it.

Or you could throw the whole lot away and turn between centres like a grown up.
