I turned this vase today and so far it has just one coat of Teak Oil it is 6" tall x 7 1/2" wide I am only showing it now so that you can see the wood I am offering I purchased this wood as Apple burr but there is very little burr on it as you will see but it is still a nice bit of wood just no burr hardly so the rest of it is now cut up now for pen blanks

Great shape and beautifully finished Woody, the grain has come up lovely after only one coating so can't wait to see the vase after you have finished coating it ..

A Sterling effort Father dear, what, what, Love you init?
Might not exactly be a burr but it has bags of character.
While out on my diveleries yesterday I spotted, in the deepest darkest depths of Essex, at a T junction was a sign "slow down felled tree chopping".
As I progressed along the road another sign "Apple tree fire wood please help yourself free". A while further down the road another sign "Walnut tree fire wood free please help yourself".
My van was already laden to the gunnel's so I bookmarked the spots in the satnav to return this way and load up there are no chimney pots for miles and it's a deserted lane with no traffic.
On my return there was nothing to collect, not even the sign, I swear they had swept up the shavings too.

How bloody sickening is that I can just imagine what colour the air was in your van LOL

Copy a few of these Brian, borrow some Blu tac from Terry, and stick over the signs!
When you come back later, the wood will still be there. Apparently:whistling::whistling::whistling:

Now that's lovely ! The colour and grain are fabulous and of course goes without saying about the design and execution

Makes me want to get to the place all the sooner now to see what else they have.
