From my thread of the goblet I promised to post pictures of my competition goblet, now that I have posted it I will now reveal it here.

Well this is my entry I found it challenging in that trying to make all the curves flow into each other.
Made from Ash and turned from one piece. Measurements below
11 1/2" tall
2 1/2" at its widest
4" depth inside of the bowl section
1/8" thickness of the bowl tapering to a thinner lip
5/8" at the thinnest part of the stem
2" across at the base
3/162 ring thickness

Turned with bowl gauge, scrapers, hollowing tool, and spindle gauge. All sanded to 600grit. Inside the bowl was finished with sander sealer and melamine lacquer outside finished with sander sealer and buffed on a three wheel buffing system.

In the first photo there is a clip on the far side of the rim which is only there to support the rings for the photo and show the grain

Thank you all will let you know when I find out how the comp goes at the moment only 4 entries

Derek, Hope you don't mind me asking, how long did that goblet take can you recall?

I turned it over two days the outer curves seemed to take ages but got there in the end, the rings only took 1/2 hour including the sanding I did turn 3 of them and when finished broke one off as I only wanted the two.

In hours that was probably 5 hours I did take my time
