Take a guess
I've recently been messing about with spirit stain & gilding wax, this combination works well on open grained timber & whilst sorting out my wood store a few months back I came across a couple of Ash blanks that if nothing else should be well seasoned going by the price.

6" x 2 1/2" the underside was coated with black spirit stain & then gold gilding wax rubbed into the grain, finished with carnauba wax.
Whilst the rim is quite wide I`ve undercut it to make the bowl appear lighter.

Ps. photobucket tells me the size of my photos are 1024 x 768, what size do they need to be to avoid the resizing box above?
