Made a while back this bud vase measures 9in high x 3in. dia. The beaded section is sprayed with a Halfords aerosol.
And before anyone asks yes it is hollow !!!! LOL:ciggrin::ciggrin::ciggrin:

It looks like a Over sized drum stick to me well turned but I think the green take away from the wood and shape may be a darker color would have been better

Nice one terry. Whilst personally I like this wood natural like, some of those modern times would snap that up. Consistent beading, did you use a beading tool, or just freehand?

I quite like it Terry, something a little different for a change. Well turned and I like the paint colour. Good job.

Not too sure Terry. Undeniable skill but it must be the paint thats putting me off a bit.

Thanks for the comments gents. I appreciate that it is not everyones cup of tea and a lot don't like paint on their work especially Granddad but as said it s a copy of one done by Mark Sanger and he used a very similar pant. The reason I tackled ts one was to see f could succeed !!!!

The concept is great and you have executed the work really well, I wonder if instead of paint spirit dyes would have been better. My granddaughter thought was that it looked like a microphone standing upside down:thumbs:

All you need to do now is make an identical one fill them with beans, and you have a pair of maracas.

By the way it is nicely turned even though it is a bit bright

Very nice Terry, good detail

And if you ever get fed up of looking at it, you can always use it as a microphone and belt out a few numbers in front of the mirror :banana:

Very nice workmanship Terry but like everyone else I like the vase but not the colour. Are you sure its a vase and not a caveman tool? :funny:

Nicely made for sure, sorry but the colour doesn't work for me either, I'd have liked it au naturel.

Having said that wouldn't do for us all to be the same.

How far in is it hollow Terry ?
