More food sruff I'm afraid:funny: Made these for the wife, as she wanted two that were like her Nan's. Simple shape, no fussy bits. Used some Ash, one of my favourite timbers to turn. One 16" and one 4" with my Foodsafe finish.
now I need to turn a pen as all this is food stuff is making me bloody hungry!! :funny:

Some nice grain in that Ash. You want to be on your best behaviour cause if she whacked you with that big one you would have some serious damage. Could I be cheeky and ask how you do your own food safe finish.

I never thought of that. Might have to put it back on the lathe and hollow it out:funny: the finish is a 60/40 mix of beeswax and mineral oil heated in a glass bowl in a pan of water on the stove to blend it. Good stuff and you only need to use a bit as the coverage is brilliant.

Ta mate. I made a small jar of it last year and it's still like the day I mixed it. You can warm some up again if you're working on something chunky like a cutting board.

You are certainly making up for lost time. Should get some use now all you need is a pestle and mortar and a chopping board that's all I can think of at the moment
