IMHO one beautiful example of natures bounty in shrubs the Conkerberry grows in the North of Austraia in clumps is a true bush grows to 3 maybe 4 metres high over a very long time. It is a fruiting bush yielding a bush Plum the indigenous people enjoy in season. It is covered in thorns i8s harvested by laying flat carving an entrance under and cutting off at the butt chain fastened and dragged out with brute force. It is so beautiful with a huge colour range, the Termites adore it spending their lives trying to eat it out from the centre so battling snakes, thorns, injuries the brutal weather where it growsw becomes a worthy trophy for our penmaking, it is very heay wet takes time to dry it is so dense turns so well.

A couple of pics one of a finished pen a time back a batch of pen blanks in the making and a pile of offcuts I gave to a mate interstate for beaut jewelry. Thereis Mulberry also in one pic.

Kind regards Peter.
