Australian Sandalwood sent to me by Peter.

Unfortunately the wood isn't quite big enough to make anything other than a slim/streamline but it has made a cracking pen. The wood was a bit like Thuya to turn as it has an oily texture to it.

Lovely ! Does it have the smell when you turn it?

Unfortunately not Phil. I've got some Indian Sandalwood that I bought when I was in in Bombay (yes that long ago) and it still smells strong. This doesn't have any smell at all.

You'll have to keep that one for yourself Doc, such a rare bit of wood.
