Aye, the model that they've (Jet) had massive headaches with motor problems. Both Phil and myself had ours returned and refunded (at least I think Phils was too), they never found a solution over several months at that point, and issued a full refund and small discount on a different model to me. Axminster indicated they had 'hundreds' quarantined in their warehouse for that motor issue, on top of that my tailstock/headstock were out of alignment.

Going by mine and others experiences I'd be cautious and, if purchased, perform a number of checks and keep a very keen eye on it. Hopefully they've resolved the problems now.

Interesting Greg - because I'm still waiting for my refund!!!! On this occasion it appears that the legendary, second to none customer service of Axminster has the forgotten the "second" part of the phrase.

If you want more info from my side/experience Phil give me a shout, more than happy to recall the tale if it helps you get your situation resolved.

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that I opened this thread? My wife has just bought me one, will have to keep a keen eye on it as stated above :rolling:
