Axminster Pen jaws

I fancied trying a set of axminster pen jaws but as I do all my turning on a modified metal lathe and I can not justify buying a wood lathe I purchased a set of axminster chuck jaws and spent a couple of hours in the shed modifying them on my mill to fit my chuck. Result is I can now add any of the axminster wood chucks extras to my metal working lathe.

This is my current lathe chuck.

This the difference in size of the chuck jaws I had to machine the axminster ones to fit.

This my existing set up ready to turn a couple of blanks with a carbide tool in the tool post.

Now I have the jaws in place it occured to me that if I had a wood lathe type tool rest I could turn bowls and stuff. So my new project is machining a tool rest that will fit in my tool post holder to allow me to use gouges to turn my work. I am also making carbide gouges to use for my turning projects.
