First day back in shed for any length of time, came out itching like mad, definitely something in there aggravating me.
Finished the Yew turnings I was doing before the allergy bit.
I put a blank by for an Omega which had bags of character and I was looking forward to penning it.
Unfortunately most of the character spun away very quickly.
So here it what it turned out like, my first pen since the last one init?

Good to see you turning again:thumbs:, there looks to be something strange at the bottom of the cap blank and the top of the lower blank and is that a crack in the cap blank?

I did wonder if and when somebody would pick up on that, well done Peter you win first prize.
Prize today is self abuse in a darkened room, you may switch the light off now.

If you mean what's in the blue circle, it's reflection from the pen nib section.
If you mean what's in the green circles, that is where the end grain was sealed with ca and has leached into the grain a touch discolouring it slightly.
None of this shows to the eye but has been picked out by the camera.
The other difference is, I have taken one of the beads each section off making it a smaller pen, you may find that odd but once again looks fine in the hand.

It was the green highlighted stuff I was referring to, the other was an obvious reflection. Thank's for the prize, but you keep it and have fun with it.

So is that a crack in the cap?

There is no crack anywhere on the pen, I don't know what you are looking at???
If there was a crack it would be filled with toothpaste and stand out as a white line a mile away.

Then it must be a trick of the light, what I was looking at is this.
