It's a very open grained timber and prone to ripping, sharp tool, light cuts and prayers work for me...
Well done for seeing it through, it would have bounced off the walls in my shop! It also has sharp little splinters when it bites

Nice work Alex. Think I have only done one winged pen and as Mark said I doubt if I will be doing another any time soon.....

Well done Alex. There are easier timbers it must be said but personal satisfaction counts for a lot in my eyes .

Black palm is severely challenging . It breaks out at the slightest wrong tool touch . Maybe 60 grit is the answer ?

Is it wrong that I quite like turning Wenge - you may have noticed I've done quite a few or is that just because I had it :thinks:
