Not specifically Glen, but whats your problem?

Hi Neil
I have a Performace Power HBS9-4. It is very good for me but it only cuts to a thickness of 70mm the Basa1, so it says will cut up to 100mm and it's in my price range

Glen, Didnt know whether you had a problem with it that could have applied to any Band saw but now understand you're after a performance recommendation.

If you are happy with the Performance Power one then the Scheppach will feel like a Rolls Royce by comparison.

In reality it is more of a Ford Focus than a Bentley Continental, but the Performance Power is a Trabant.

Keep the one you have buy the largest you can accommodate I have always had a large throat saw. Another thing you can do is buy, make risers to increase the throat height, just as important the width you can fit to the blade IMHO.

Just bear in mind that the spec is for the physical height of 4 inches. That doesn't mean that in practical terms it will actually cut 4 inches. I have a Basato 3 which is 8 inches. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

5 year warranty is a big plus point on the record.

Personally, I think that I would go for an used inca euro 260 which would cost you around £100, maybe a little more. I have one of these as a second bandsaw and it is fantastic. it will cut veneer thicknesses, but that may be largely due to it being set up properly and having a good sharp blade. Most machines can be set up to perform well.

It really depends what you want to use it for. You can be certain that sooner or later it won't be big enough, but that is life.
