Of the two which would you say was the most accurate, especially on smaller pieces .. :thinks:

i would say table saw.

although on small parts it would also be (potentially) more dangerous. It really depends what you are wanting to cut on it.

Would say depends on if set up right.. would tend to say bandsaw if used right and set up right but tables poss more likely to be set up right.. but depends on each one...

I use the band saw for cutting small pieces , but I have been looking at a mini table saw its got a 4 inch blade not sure if it would be accurate enough, would want to see one working before buying

I have both for accurate cuts the bench saw(assuming it is a good one) for everyday use the bandsaw is my go to. If I was going to say do segmented work the bench saw would be the choice with a jig for safe cutting and holding.

THe bandsaw I have a few other saws I have a few each one handy and efficient its impossible to follow the grain in pen blanks with the table saw unsafe even with especially small items the bandsaw is very useful.

Take a guess
Table saw is way more accurate than a bandsaw, try gluing mitres up straight off a bandsaw :sob:

An accurate sliding table is idea for small components but for lots of repetitive cuts a decent chop saw would be my choice Jim

Bandsaw every time..

I don't have a big table saw now adays, I changed to a big (ish, the blade is 2,750 and 14" cut) bandsaw and never looked back for what I do.

If I was going to say do segmented work the bench saw would be the choice

I prefer the bandsaw for segmented work, especially for the serpent blanks. The table saw blade is a bit reluctant to do wavey lines.

for small bits the band saw but it has to be set up right to minimise drift.

Ray, using more tpi and a sharp blade will minimise the ridges

Tablesaw def more accurate but the bandsaw is more convenient and the one I go to first for occasional or small cuts. For general pen blanks, I always use the bandsaw.

Buy a tablesaw Jim then you've got the choice, assuming you can shoehorn it into the workshop that is. I had mine delivered Saturday and am struggling for space but I'll put it on wheels and fit it in somewhere.
