Brilliant work, Johnny - I love 'em!

Are the kits ex Timberbits? And where did you get the blanks. Plus price. Well done, again, mate!

Bob.

Presumably from Craft Supplies USA Johnny, and blanks from Vince?

Turners Retreat doesn't list the kits but would probably order them in if requested as they did that for me with Gillette Fusion kits. Cost was the same in £s as USA $.

Thanks Johnny

Just had a quick look and Rizheng stock the kits but though I've been tempted a number of times to order from them as there are several items I'm interested in, the carriage and possible import duties put me off.

As for the Conway Stewart blanks there were a few scrag ends floating about but Vince at The Turners Workshop bought virtually all of the stock available and has superb range. I've bought a few from him as luckily he's only 20 mins from me.

These are great Johnny. I did not realise that this style of razor is still available. Do they sell well

Johnny,

These are beautiful, the choice of blank fits the "60s" style and looks great, the shape that you've put on the handle is really good - ive always put a straight handle on these kits but now know the error of my ways!

In our area we have a few razor shops their charges are dynamite I like the ones you made immensely. There is a program on the box about a firm in America called Pawn Shop run by a raucous family the eldest son of is the main spokesman for them using his name they sell razors similar to the ones you made Johnny as units pics of that bloke all over it at a premium price. Next time I go into our local mall I will post the prices etc you will be amazed there appears to be a resurgence over here anyway of them. My Dad was an accountant and used to keep notes on spurious things he kept a log on how many uses he got out of this type razor extending into some months on one blade he started this over here and bought a mini strop or used a glass to run the blade around to keep0an edge. Necessity in the middle east Egypt during his army service in the 40,s blades were like hens teeth. He used to also use a cutthroat razor with a small mirror someone thieved his mirror and truthfully he put a pic of himself on the wall and used that as a guide with the cutthroat. In later old age he passed in 2001 at 92 he was diagnosed as compulsive obsessive bit like penmakers I suppose.

Love your razors and your treatment of them I am in the middle of a razor project in fact about half way now. Please keep up your unusual projects mate they stimulate progress on our forum.
