I went to make a Baron today, I drilled the cap blank with a 15/32" drill bit when I went to dry fit the tube, I found that the tube was too big.

I measured the tubes they are 31/64" or 12.30 mm and 13/32" or 10.20 mm

I was using a Timberbits Baron 2 kit, have these changes sizes?
Or have the put the wrong size tubes in the packet.
His website says Drill Bit required – 25/64" & 15/32"

Why not ask Timberbits mate. Because I have so many kits I have collected over such a long time I measure check then drill, the check to ensure the parts match that kit.

I don't know if they have changed, but I always measure the tube and select the best fit drill bit, I never look at the recommended drill sizes, I have had too many discrepancies to rely on what it says.

The chinese Jr Gents have all gone to bigger tubes recently, now requiring 10.5 and 12.5 drills instead of the previous 25/32 and 15/32. The Baron is to all intents and purposes a Jr Gent but with a better education so to speak. Given it is my belief that TB's Barons are Chinese and not Taiwanese, you may find their tubes have changed too. But as already said, a quick email to TB may clear up the question

To put the cat among the pigeons I measure every drill before I use it or keep them in separate ziploc bags having measured them they vary enough to bother IMHO Mark. What brought this about was making my own pen mandrel savers where it was so important not to have slop over the mandrel connection.twenty five years ago. Brass sleeves vary all over the place in slims so I use a go no go guage and discard.
