THis is my first effort in wood colouring so I thought I would aim for something simple. I bought a 12 x 2 blank from Axminster. It sat in the workshop for weeks before I could start it.
When I finally started it I attached the face plate but again had to put it to one side as time was limited.

A few days ago I went back to find that it had split. The wood was dry as well. Anyway, rather than waste it I decided it would be a good practice piece and gave it a go.

It looks well-made Frederick and a good recovery for a piece that has a split in it:thumbs:.

You know that decorating pieces can become very addictive:wink:

Hello Derek,

Thanks for the comments, as always appreciated.

I am very willing to believe that too. Another one on the lathe now.

Cheers
