265 pens later the term is appropriate that would demand bulk buying. If you lived nearer you could have had several times that many excess blanks for starters as I down size. Alas that much freight etc.

Thanks for a peep into a busy penmakers way of life. Trust you prosper mate.:rolling:

No wonder you've not been saying a lot on the forum lately Neil, I think I'd have been a bit dizzy after doing that lot!

300 pens in 3 days. Blimey Neil you have been busy.
I've just worked out that if you spent 8 hours in the workshop each day that's one pen every 4.8 minutes :shocking:

Chas,

Two lathes, two bolt/sierra blanks on each lathe, I cut the blanks according to the pen I'm making and keep excess turning to a minimum, and then swivel between the two lathes to allow the CA to cure in between. Method doesnt involve copious origami with kitchen towel and 20 coats, but three with pure CA. I had cut the blanks previously so that was all sorted before I got started.

Off to flog them in about 5 minutes at a Christmas Market!

With that number of pens I can see why you would only do 3 coats of CA.

Jeez, Neil - I dunno how you do it!!! And despite the high volume I bet they are all up to your usual standards. Good luck with your up-coming events - you deserve it!
