This log was in a friends firewood pile horrible dirty looking bit of split log about 15" long so I cut the ends off and cut it in half and this is one half Im going to make another one with the other half it if 3" wide 5" long and 2" high with a polish finish I think it may be Prunus

Just goes to show never discard a piece of wood. That's gorgeous Woody, do you know what wood it is, summit or something? Lol

I did say I think it may be a member of the prunus family
It is a beautiful wood to turn hard and it just peals off

Lovely work Woody. Funny but I had it in my mind to try one like this and you have bloody well beaten me to it !!!! LOL:kiss::kiss::kiss:

I was going to do a bigger one got the bit of wood in me workshop all ready then Violet tells me I have to send some of the parts of for a V/S upgrade so I sorted this little bit of wood out and done it on me small lathe good un-it

The only difference that I had in my mind was to have the natural edge on the rim of the bowl section !!!!

They do sell well Chas I have sold quite a few of them but like anything some you please the rest have bad taste LOL :funny:

I dont reverse these Vic I put a screw chuck on the bark side and make and finish the bottom first if you look at the foot it is made the right size to fit my chuck jaws 2"
