Hi all
I have been given the above sander which is an Axminster model AWEBDS46, However the colour is black instead of the Axminster red so might be an old version. I need to clean it up a bit and get any sawdust out to start with. What I have found is when setting the mitre face to zero that it doesn't run across the face plate. I know that I will have to clean it out and possibly put WD40 on it.
But it gives me the impression that when you set it to whatever angle you require and tighten, that the screw is pressing down on the slide and faceplate therefore it doesn't move across from left to right and back??
Anyone have any thoughts on what the problem may be???

It's not unusual that by tightening the angle nut it locks the mitre guide in the slot...it does it with mine...I just do a couple then move across the face a bit more. Yes it's a faff but quite quick, I use my pin punch holder to check square ...less than 30secs

Thanks for your reply however is there supposed to be a handle to move the mitre guard?? Was also told to put a couple of washers under the nut to ease pressure between the mitre guide and slide.......

I have a yellow one and you just add a couple of washers under the knob to effectively shorten the threaded knob length. Assuming your mitre guide has a knob? If not it needs one by the sound of it
