What's the best finish for using in anything that will hold wine/beer/soft drinks that won't end up being stained by the contents?

Got my eye on a couple of bits in my dad's firewood sheds that will make great pint pots/goblets

My standard finish on non pen things is a couple of coats of sanding sealer and then either Beeswax or MC wax for the wax finish. Also got a bottle of raw linseed oil as well if that can be used

I usually use cellulose lacquer on top of sanding sealer although the last goblet I did I put ca on it and in it, she drinks from it with no ill effects.
All this crap about food safe finishing is bollocks, all finishes are food safe unless otherwise stated on container.
The world has gone full tilt and no poisons are allowed anymore.
I even have to get special permission and close off an area with appropriate signs and tape just to clean a bog with bleach.

Treatex clear gloss hardwax oil from Mark Raby. It is wine & beer resistant & will seal the vessel to keep the liquid in. You can google his website get his no. & give him a ring.
