Nowt wrong with what you have done but as dad say's there s much more character in cross cur Bamboo.

I bet it looks much better in hand than it does in the photo Ted. I like it as it is but as stated would probably look even nicer cross cut :thumbs:

If that matches your floor then it has provenance Ted if not its a nice pen. I witnessed 80 ton of possible pen blanks at the winter timber for sale place one of a number here the possibilities are endless. Our city is planted out by the streets tremendous number of exotics find their way out now because of age or infirmity dumped ready to woodchip for the in thing mulching. Tree surgeons abound most every one of them have excess they chip as well. Bamboo is aggressive the others quite friendly to turn.

Having fun trying is satisfying.
