Back to the thread, cost isnt an issue here this time, we come back to the issue of kit quality.
There are some kits that are rubbish, we all know that. (Walter, imho the sculpted pen from PSI is a howler and the filligree from Berea likewise).
There are some manufacturers that produce more rubbish than others, but just because there is some rubbish around, it doesnt mean that they are all rubbish from wherever they come from.
There are some components that are used by multiple "Manufacturers" or should that be component collaters to be more accurate, that are the issue in many of these threads, this being typical. The thread in the Jr Gents cap I suspect is supplied by one company to at least two major manufacturers. This component was used by both Rizheng and Ace Pens, the latter supplying TB (I Believe). Rizheng have admitted the issue and on their website are happy to stipulate that the kits are now supplied with a new thread. This is a different thread than that supplied to the TB kit, it is much thicker, a point which Peter, I think, previously mentioned.
