Black Saturday!

A green Oak bowl 7" x 3". The tree was only felled last week. The tools went black as did the toolrest, bed, jaws, and my hands.

Took longer to clean everything than it took to turn! It will be interesting to see how it moves.

Thanks Keith. I've cross cut some heart wood for pen blanks as there is a lot going on.

That’s a beautiful bowl Neil.
We used to clean the machines with paraffin oil when we machined wet oak.
