Blingless Roman Harvest in Olive

Just completed a "blingless" gold Roman Harvest in Olive. Olive is finished using Melamine and polished with wax. I had some offcuts of blue resin from a TM Zeta pen and decided to have a go at making centre bands, cabochoun etc. Really pleased with my first attempt. Managed to find bushes in my collection from other pen kits that were the right internal diameter (spring blossom/empress and Senator) for the centre and top bands and turned and polished the resin on the lathe using micromesh. Hardest bit was the clip insert which was done entirely by hand.

This pen has has a pleasant upblinging indeed, proving you can put lipstick on a pen.

Every step you went was not easy,the degree of difficulty was high for this one off pen of unique character. Also I know that kit well you don,t have any thickness to work with much in that cap area. Love the way you included the blue colour in all ways so carefully Ian.

Using Olive wood of this character is fun and productive,on its own it makes a strong statement.

Nice work Ian. Not sure I like the colour combo for myself I'm afraid, but that's just my subjective opinion which is therefore beside the point. The work you've done is well worth the effort.
