The only way I can find out if a CA finish lasts is to see a pen in daily use over a period of time. The wife has a streamline I made for her with a hybrid blank that I finished with CA so I'll keep an eye on it. I use oil finish on most things I turn now other than pens but I can't see it being very practical for use on pens I sell if it has to be reapplied on a regular basis.


You're right about the fumes from CA on the lungs. I use a fume mask every time I use CA now. I have no tolerance for it any more
