I have been busy but not turning. Just finished these two jewellery boxes for someone. The first was made from reclaimed mahogany someone was throwing out and the second was a thick piece of wood from a off cut pile at a local carpenters shop.
Both finished with chestnut acrylic sander sealer and satin lacquer then lined with a sticky backed sheet of felt

Excellent work, Derek.
I like the wrap-around Mahogany and the rounded lid in the first one and the bandsaw box lines are very crisp.
Have you lifted the drawers some way to the gap is even all round?
Have you ever tried flocking ?( that's not a personal question ) for the bottoms of the drawers.

I fitted a couple of very thin strips of wood to the bottom of the draws to help centre them in the gap. Not tried flocking as I always have some of the stick on felt handy.

Very nice.

How long did they take to do?

Thank you Gary.

I never timed how long on these but a guess would be about a week on and off. Waiting for glue and finishes to dry takes quite a bit of that time.
