Boxwood on a Slimline Pen

I was given this piece of Boxwood from Ed, (naxie) that was taken from his in-laws garden in France .. What a beauty it is too ... I have placed it on a Black Satin Slimline with a Blackwood center band.. Finished with friction polish and waxed with EEE-Ultra Shine and Shellawax Cream polish ...

On a downer Keith (Yorkshireman) also gave me a beautiful piece of Boxwood which was looking really nice until i came to polishing it where a split appeared to open up .. What a waste ... :down:

Lovely contrast in the black and boxwood Jim good choice very nice to eyes. Good picture too.
Shame about the other one that would have been a goodun too.

I agree with Brian, a smashing contrast & a lovely pen :thumbs:

As for the split one, that`s just wood for you you can't win them all. :nooidea:

A lovely pen Jim, those buttery yellows and grain are shown off well. I hope you enjoyed turning it. :thumbs:

I certainly did Ed, and the scraps from this blank are now sat waiting to be used as center bands .. .:wink:
