I collected a length of bramble last year and cut it into blanks and here is one of them finished. I thought that the nib end had some water staining but it is a part of the wood itself.
I like it as well. I have always been surprised by some people's choice when they purchase pens, some like to see plenty of features in the wood others go for plain. It's all down to personal preference I spose.
The people in the craft fairs I attend love the exotics, fountain pens and stuff that looks good. The people who buy in the local shops want something with provenance so I source all of that locally and from anything... There are now no shrubs or trees in Sandford so I have to start turning the weeds
