Timberbits amongst others, but just turn the wood off the tube and re-use it.

Vic,

They come from the Rizheng Stationery Company in China. I buy the Ultra Cigar from him and the touch stylus (but this one I have just found a cheaper supplier). The Rizheng Stationery company is great at simple kits, the 7mm kits are great, the sierra kits are terrible, the mechanisms are very unreliable. I have had repeated issues with the tubes on the Ultra kits, the tubes have been compressed at the ends where the tubes have been cut to length, and in true Chinese style, they dont appear to be too interested!. The Churchill kits plumb the depths of poor design and are ghastly. The Chairmans pens are great, but expensive, you can get the same kits from Axminster, who also use Rizheng for some of their kits. The chairmans from Ax is £4.76 is you buy 10, and if you buy 11 you get free postage. Tony will charge you £6 plus postage which is expensive.

So all in all the simple kits are fine, the sierra/gatsby mechanism steer clear of and the chairmans I get elsewhere cheaper, same kit. Others I dont touch as they dont sell relative to the others I make.

Neil, with the Sierra mech, I too had problems but found that the spring is very slightly tapered which if put in the wrong way, the mech wanted to unscrew and the refill didn't want to come out. Turning the spring around I found that the mech worked ok.

The main issue with these Sierra mechanisms Paul, is that there is not enough grip between the mechanism and the top. The number of times the twisted pen fails to operate the twist mechanism drives me nuts, dont have this issue with TB kits.
