Now I've fallen in love with this timber (if that's not a bit too weird)

It had a lovely chunk of pale sapwood at the nib end which is unfortunately now on the shed floor :sob:

CA finish.

Such a familiar story Phil, I often wonder why what we see is not what we get.
I have to admit I have drilled at so many angles trying to capture that extra bit, I severely question why is it so important to drill dead center. it makes no sense sometimes.
My best advise is ca the shed floor and show us a picture of that.
