Jim you have captured the essence of one of my favoured timbers the ubiquatus? Brown Mallee Burl one of IMHO the most delightful examples of easy to handle most rewarding of timbers. It is elusive in this grain formation varies with sapwood, stable and your pic opens it up nicely. Yesterday I gave a mate of mine one Slim with Streamline band to say thanks for two 255 65 16 inch tyres so I confirm the real value and power of Brown Mallee, this mate sold his ML320 Mercedes same as mine and kept back two tyres.

Even in beaut timber this blank is exceptional. Well found and made mate.:iknow::noway1: before a stampede starts where did you get it I want one remember this is a prime example.

Kind regards Peter.:camera::claps: Remember Jim interested in your photo set up no answer yet share it around.

Lovely bit of wood, smashing bit of turning and finishing. I'm still not convinced I like the kit though, I don't like the visible thread for parking the top when the pen's not in use!:rolling:
