Fantastic Jim, the depth of colour on that kit is superb! Did you have the issue of the glue on the thread so this batch? Lovely turning by the way, and if anyone questions the use of burr/burl I suppose we should call it burl if we call a butter puff breakfast roll a croissant. Buckeye is actually a very close relative of our own horse chestnut tree, Aesculus hippocastanum. Buckeye or, horse chestnut, is the state symbol of Ohio, and is the Aesculus glabra, also a horse chestnut tree. It develops the strange colouring as a result of a combination of the climate and minerals but this reason is not certainty but speculation.

That is the most amazing wood I've seen for a long time if not ever Jim and you've made a fantastic job of turning and finishing it. Where did you get the blank if you don't mind me asking?
