I recieved a package from David (Lignature) this morning containing several pieces of Buckeye.  I've wanted to try this for a long time since someone (I think it was Jim) put up some pictures of one he made.  Its very dry wood and I was tempted to stabilize it but being impatient decided to go my old route with ca first and I'll stabilise the rest.  Its lovely wood to turn and takes a superb finish.  Of course the Omega sets the wood of perfectly in gunmetal.
