Had a piece of Buffalo horn lying around as you do, so thought I'd try something different.

Married with a piece of Maple, seemed fitting somehow.

Lessons learned ?   Buffalo horn absolutely stinks but it does polish up nice.

Shame most of the white disappeared onto the floor tiny bit left, but I think the end result is not too bad.   The fine figuring in the maple got washed out by the flash, the pen does look better in the flesh I'm afraid.

Maple finished with friction polish, horn polished like acrylic, micro mesh all through the grits.
