Hi All,
As you know I like a bullet case pen or two.... Good sellers for me:thumbs:
So we have 2x. 338 Lapua magnum cases being usedIMG_20220817_190951.jpg
These were made on my wood lathe with a 4 jaw chuck...
Make sure the cases are 'fired' chuck one up and drill the back (primer end) to take an Omega body tube. Turn around and with a tct parting tool/ or jnr hacksaw remove the cartridge neck at the chamfer point. This will give you an overal length just over tube length. Next open the neck up to take the rear fitting ( threaded piece) I use a 9mm drill and then a reamer to go a smidgen more.
The next cartridge you need to drill for the cap tube, this was the hardest bit as the cases were hard! Measure the cap tube and again with a tct parting tool/ or jnr hacksaw cut to length and tidy. Wrap a few swipes of masking tape around one end of the cap tube until its a snug fit in the cartridge mouth.... Next assembly...
Personally as everything is snug I don't glue anything, the fittings going into the tubes will hold everthing together, you could use two part epoxy to secure things but it got messy and stopped things going tight....
This is just my method, it might or might not work for you:thinks:IMG_20220817_191056.jpg
