Had very little time at the weekend but managed this one for a friend.

Used very fragile elm burr so needed a lot of ca whilst turning.

I turned off a few mm down to the tube, drilled out the clip to 7mm and slid on to the tube, turned a little collar to go over the end and into the cap. Once the cap was filed for the clip it was all epoxied together and seems to work well.

Still don't like the nibs much though!

My appologies for the poor photo which doesn't do the pen justice, must get around to making a light box:goesred:

That looks very nice Bob. I bought a light box but don't use it now, I just put a piece of A4 on my desk and put the pen on that. I then change the levels in a program which I find much easier that trying to faff around with the camera trying to get it right.

I've been trying to make some with genuine bullet tips but am finding it a bit difficult at the moment. I'll get there though.

Paul if the problem is with drilling seek out the drills made to drill brass and or copper they make it easy to drill and if lead is in the centre cuts clean.

Peter.

After the hole is drilled Alex, how did you then connect that to the tube?
