Well the last year hasn't been that good to me in one way or another..

My health hasn't been that good and I am being pushed out of the door of employment after nearly 40 years.

I can't complain as they have supported me over the last 3 years and there has to be an end..

My mum has had numerous bouts of pneumonia over the last 6 months in and out of hospital which had a knock on effect on her long term.

Sadly she lost her fight and we said our goodbyes last Friday.

Always difficult times and mentally it has effected me, thankfully I could see the benefits of of "hiding in the cave" and take it out on anything I could find...

So now I need to get used to having no parents, no job and not being able to work due to ill health.:sob:

Plus the problem of not being able to stand, sit or walk around in the cave to get anything done..?

One thing keeping me going is the tireless energy my grandson has got, the positivity and the thirst for learning is superb..

Having someone in the cave really does help me focus on work rather than the pain, so hopefully we will progress on to many good things together..

Sadly this is a thing that we all have to go through and the older we get the older our parents are. My dear mum is in her 90's and it is a fact of life that she will pass. This does not make it any easier all the same. Condolences on you loss.
And hope that any shed time as little as it is helps with some of the healing at this time as well as to help with a little recovery time from your ongoing health problems.
Take care and look forward to whatever you can produce when you are able.

Sorry to hear about your loss and health issues Eamonn, I do hope things improve quickly.

Enjoy your grandson - aren't they a source of delight?

Do what you can, but be easy on yourself.

When I first read of the loss of your mum I realised I did not know how to express to you ,still don,t mate. When I lost my mum a big part of me went also. I had the privilige first with mum later dad to officiate and conduct their funerals, take care of their affairs etc so it enabled me to greive fully, for that I give thanks.

So sorry to hear of your loss Eamonn. It’s something you never really get over but you come to terms with.
Your grandson is your inspiration now. He will fill your time & you can pass on your experience to him so I hope you can get into the shed with him.
Take care my friend.
