Itzhak, good to see you again in our country where I presume the Yellow Box Burl may have been grown it is a really tough timber more so in the burl form highly prized for burning it does so slowly with tremendous heat its not known as a furniture timber is outstanding strong growing and long lived. Seeing your pen made me appreciate it even more, I have never seen black Corian does it come in 20 mm plus or is it laminated? The eyes in that Burl the absolute craftsman approach you have your styling and photography establish this pen as superior high end IMHO. Thanks indeed for sharing mate. When I can there is a tree of this timber now emasculated for safety in the front yard down the road could be 200 yrs old burl is rare with this tree I will try to take a pic.

When I first married we built a house with a Rayburn stove that gave us hot water for the home, heating and cooking an unusual choice and quite expensive for us I mention this cause I used to seek out Yellow Box cut wood to run the stove we had to be careful indeed I had to replace the fire bricks it burned so hot.

Keep them coming mate.

Peter.

Mate as I said forest trees grow huge I took these pics just now from across the road both sides and the last pic looking back to ours the last tree on the left is outside my neighbors dont know their names but Eucs as well. They create real problems with roots etc. So the tree and close up Yellow Box pruned right back for safety about 200 yrs old was left when the land was divided in the 60,s the others planted in the 60,s.

Kind regards Peter.
